The Controller will report to the CFO and will have primary day-to-day responsibility managing the Accounting Department and overseeing the accounting process

Responsibilities:
– Oversee the Accounting Department and the day-to-day accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Cash-flow, Payroll, Financial Statements, Fixed Assets and assist with Job Costing
– Oversee the Construction accounting process from start to finish in accordance with company policies such as: project setup, contract negotiation support, insurance certificates, analysis and support, compliance, sub applications, sub payments, and project closeout
– Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
– Cash Management
– Oversee the reporting process to executive management
– Forecast cash flow at company and project levels
– Perform company and project based financial analysis
– Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting
– Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
– Work-In-Progress reporting
– Assist in producing monthly financial statements
– Seek opportunities for cost reduction through process, policy and best practice initiatives and promotes continuous improvement
– Ensure credibility of project financials by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts as it relates to all construction projects in accordance with GAAP
– Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system
– Assist in all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization
– Assist with information gathering for tax preparations for outside CPA firm and other financial related audits or reviews
– Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
– Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
– Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities

Qualifications And Requirements:
– BS in Accounting or Finance
– Sage 300 CRE and Procore knowledge a plus
– 5+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles in the construction industry (GC experience a plus)
– Proficient in Excel
